Cobbler’s Business Case

A 1,000 person village where shoes and boots are not traditionally worn must be evolved into a sufficient market to justify the full service cobbler shop. It will be useful to provide access to a vehicle that can accommodate a portable shoe & repair booth. The route expansion could take place after the 2nd year of operation. The GDV loans $2,250 in startup costs for 150% thereof from 20% of the shop’s net revenues. Year two the cobbler shop projects net sales revenues of $978, and net repair revenues of $1,889.63. Year five the cobbler shop projects $3,355 in net sales revenues and $4,537.50 in net repair revenues. The cobbler shop receives all its labor costs plus 80% of the net revenues from sales and repair.
